´Swimmin´ in the Lake...

Today was our first beautiful day since we´ve been here, so we decided to hit the lake... we rented a canoe and paddled around to check out our little island of Flores. We stopped at a pier we found across the way, docked and enjoyed swimming around. Andrew had a blast jumping, and diving into the refreshing water... it was a great way to spend out afternoon! ... and we´ve both got the sun on our faces to prove it! :D

Tikal, Gautemala

Hola Amigos...

So, yesterday we made it to Tikal, the most amazing Mayan ruins in the country! There is over 4000 sq acres of rain forest, and something like 4000 temples scattered throughout the national park. Only about 15% of the ruins have even been discovered. We decided to spend the night in Tikal so we could wake up early and do the sunrise tour... so we woke up at 4:30 am and put on ALL our rain gear and trekked into the jungle. We had the most amazing guide Luis, who was leading our group of 6 into the dark, wet ruins. We climed atop Temple IV and waited for the sun... it was awesome! Luis also showed as a ton of wildlife, we saw two kinds of monkeys, tucans, wild turkeys, and pheasants. Thanks goodness we brought our binoculars so we could see them upclose and personal. It was the first time I saw monkeys in the wild, and man, it was cool ass! :D We picked some of our favorite pics from the day so you could sneek and peak at what we saw...
Enjoy!
We miss you...
Adios!

Cool Beans...

Hey Everyone...
Well we arrived safely in Flores, Gautemala after almost 24 hours of traveling. Our journey was well worth it though because we adore Flores. It has quaint coble stone walkways, surrounded by colorful bright buildings...and last night we found the most romatic spot on the lake to enjoy tacos and beers as our reward! :D
Today has been very relaxing, waking up late, strolling down to the local spot for eggs and toast... and dashing under overhangs when the day brings it´s frequent bouts of rain. We have already found our favorite spot for a caffe con leche, COOL BEANS, where I just got schooled at two games of checkers by Andrew! haha :D
We are loving the relaxed vibe here, and have decided to stay an extra night to enjoy our roof top terrace with hammocks and perhaps a local boat ride around the island! Needless to say we have started this trip out on exactly the right foot.

Asta Luego Amigos...
