Tikal, Gautemala

Hola Amigos...

So, yesterday we made it to Tikal, the most amazing Mayan ruins in the country! There is over 4000 sq acres of rain forest, and something like 4000 temples scattered throughout the national park. Only about 15% of the ruins have even been discovered. We decided to spend the night in Tikal so we could wake up early and do the sunrise tour... so we woke up at 4:30 am and put on ALL our rain gear and trekked into the jungle. We had the most amazing guide Luis, who was leading our group of 6 into the dark, wet ruins. We climed atop Temple IV and waited for the sun... it was awesome! Luis also showed as a ton of wildlife, we saw two kinds of monkeys, tucans, wild turkeys, and pheasants. Thanks goodness we brought our binoculars so we could see them upclose and personal. It was the first time I saw monkeys in the wild, and man, it was cool ass! :D We picked some of our favorite pics from the day so you could sneek and peak at what we saw...
Enjoy!
We miss you...
Adios!
